A SLIMMING sensation who lost almost eight stone in weight is to pass on her dieting knowledge as she starts her own class.
Katie Merriman, who was crowned Weightcare Slimmer of the Year 2010, is now becoming a consultant to help others shed the pounds.
The 24-year-old will be hosting a slimming club for Weightcare on Tuesday nights at Bedworth Methodist Church Hall starting on September 14.
Open from 7pm at the Mill Street-based hall, the session will see Katie weigh people and then offer them advice, hints and tips through the Weightcare diet plan.
"I'm very excited to be beginning a chapter in my life with Weightcare, which helped me to get healthy and learn how to eat properly and lose weight," she said.
"I am now hoping that people will come along to the new class in Bedworth and I will be able to help them make changes and lose weight as well.
"This is a new class for Bedworth and we are very excited to be offering a class in the town and everyone is welcome to come along.
As an extra incentive, those who join the class on September 14 will be offered free membership, which is worth £10.
Katie was crowned Weightcare Slimmer of the Year back in May after impressing judges, but it still has not sunk in that she was crowned the winner.
Having gone through the ups and downs of weight loss and achieving her own goal, Katie is looking forward to using her personal experience to help others.
"I was a total surprise when I won the award, but losing weight gave me a massive amount of confidence and I haven't looked back," she added.
"I want others to have that sense of accomplishment of losing weight and feeling better about themselves and giving them confidence.
"I know what it feels like to walk through the doors for the first time, but no one should feel embarrassed because they have taken the first step in the right direction."
