PEOPLE in a former tightly knit mining community are to have a say on future plans for the area.
A brand new community and sports centre is due to open at Bermuda Village next spring.
But the opinions of local residents, community groups and other stakeholders are to be sounded before any plans are finalised.
The man who has been given the task of gathering the information is Paul Longhurst.
He has been appointed by Warwickshire Community and Voluntary Action (CAVA) as community development officer for the area.
The post is being funded for 18 months thanks to a generous contribution from Deeley Properties, who are developing the area and building the new Community Centre.
“I am really excited by the challenge ahead,” said Paul.
“It’s really important that people living in and around Bermuda share their views as to what they want to see in their local area.
“Once I know what is needed I can then work with the residents and plan ahead.”
He added: “The whole project demonstrates the passion Deeleys have for the local community.”
Anyone in the Arbury Ward who wants to get involved can call Paul on 024 7638 5765.
