FAVOURABLE odds have been given that Nuneaton’s Member of Parliament will complete an arduous walking challenge.
Marcus Jones MP met with representatives from Ladbrokes to discuss his involvement in the Nuneaton Rotary Walk for the Mary Ann Evans Hospice which goes ahead this Sunday.
The MP is to take on the massive 21 mile trek this weekend around Nuneaton.
Ladbrokes have given him attractive odds of 3/1 to complete the challenge in under seven hours.
The betting firm has given Mr Jones a £50 charity bet, which he now hopes to convert into £200 if he is successful.
He said: “I am really looking forward to be joining the Rotary Walk and to raising money for Mary Ann Evans Hospice.
“In addition to the traditional sponsorship that people have been kind enough to pledge, it’s fantastic to have received this support from Ladbrokes, although I am not sure if the odds are a little bit optimistic!”
Organised by Rotary Club of Nuneaton there is a number of walks for people to get involved in. There is the 21 mile walk, which Marcus Jones is taking part in.
