THRILL-SEEKERS can try their luck at a fundraising casino night to help a pedal-cycling pair on a mission.
Ambleside Sunday FC is hosting its annual casino night at the Ambleside Sports and Social Club in Nuneaton on Saturday, March 3.
But, this time around, half of the money raised from the event will be donated to the Genesis Research Trust via Kay Sanders and Rebecca Guslov.
As featured in the News, the pair plan to undertake a mammoth cycling mission across Central America in aid of the national charity set up by Professor Robert Winston.
They have until August to raise the £6,000 needed to join the 450km `Women for Women Central America Cycling Challenge' alongside other intrepid female cyclists in November.
On hearing about the duo's quest, members of the Nuneaton and District Sunday Football League club decided to help out.
"It is such a wonderful gesture," said Kay Sanders. "The club holds a casino night every year and this year have decided to split the money with the Genesis Trust. We are really grateful to the football club for choosing to donate the money to what is a fantastic cause."
It is a `prize winning' night with blackjack, roulette and poker tables as well as entertainment from Jordan Williams.
Tickets for the event are priced at £5 and anyone is being invited along according to Rebecca: "It should be a fantastic night, there have been some fantastic prizes donated."
The casino night is the latest fundraising venture for the pair who have just under six months to raise the money needed to undertake the two-wheeled challenge.
"We have already had some really generous sponsorship and we have been carrying out car boot sales," Kay added.
"We have plenty more events planned over the coming months including a quiz night and the wheels are in motion for a cycling treasure hunt in the summer."
Anyone who would like to buy a ticket for the casino night, which will start at 7.30pm, should either contact Jason Molloy on 07593 261 640 or check out the group `Ambleside Casino Night in association with the Genesis Research Trust' on social networking site Facebook.
