DJs play host to charity ball

Written byby KELLY WARDEN

DECKS will be in a spin at a dance event which will raise money for two worthy charities.

Daz Shewring aka DJ Velocity and Ryan Oliver aka DJ Ron HT, who are from Nuneaton, have organised the ‘Thud & Asylum Charity Ball’.

The event will take place at The Parade in Coton Road, Nuneaton, on Saturday, April 28 and people can expect a great line-up of entertainment.

A number of local DJs who have appeared at venues across the borough and beyond, including MC Flex and DJ Mindbender, will take to the stage to impress guests who can expect to hear a wide variety of dance music.

The evening will begin at 4pm when families are invited along to enjoy a child friendly disco until 6pm.

Following the chart-topping hits, from 6pm until midnight the talented DJs will present their sounds which will cover everything from House to Happy Hardcore and also Drum and Bass.

Entrance to the ball is £2 per person and all money will be shared between the MS Society which funds research into Multiple Sclerosis and provides information and support to people affected by it, and Birmingham Children’s Hospital, which treats thousands of sick children each year.

Funds donated to the hospital are used to create modern environments, purchase medical equipment and fund research into the prevention and treatment of childhood illnesses.

The charities are especially important to 30-year-old Daz and 20-year-old Ryan, whose fami l ies have in some way experienced first hand the support offered by the causes.

“We have both decided to put on this event to raise as much money as possible for the two charities which are close to our hearts,” said organiser Daz Shewring.

“I am so pleased that so many other resident DJs have volunteered to appear for free and I can’t wait for the ball now.

“Not only will we be raising money, we want to raise awareness and educate everyone on our chosen charities but at the same time they can get together with friends and enjoy the different styles of dance music.”

The dance-mad duo have also been supported by Force 400 who have donated a sound system for the night.
