THE BOYFRIEND of a woman found dead in the boot of a car in Nuneaton has appeared in court.
Aaron Mann is charged with murdering Claire O'Connor and he was at Coventry Crown Court yesterday.
During the short plea, case and management hearing, the 31-year-old former bouncer failed to enter a plea of guilty or not guilty and the matter was adjourned until Monday, June 11.
A preliminary date has been set for a full trial, which is expected to take place in October of this year.
As reported in the Nuneaton News, the body of Miss O'Connor was discovered on Monday, January 2 in a Ford Focus car parked in Montana Walk, Stockingford.
Forensic officers quickly cordoned off the road as they examined the scene for vital clues.
Aaron Mann was pulled in for questioning within hours of the grim discovery.
Investigations continued at Miss O'Connor's home in Church Road, which she shared with Mann, once she had been formally identified.
A Post mortem held later on revealed that the 38-year old mother of one had died as a result of injuries to her neck.
Mann was formally charged with her murder following more than two days of intense questioning at Warwickshire Justice Centre.
A spokesperson for Warwickshire Police said: "Aaron Mann did not enter a plea and his case was adjourned until June 11.
“A preliminary date for the trial has been set for October. Although that has yet to be confirmed."
