Next week is Compost Awareness Week and Leicestershire Waste Partnership, which includes Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council, will be holding a series of events so people can find out more.
The theme this year is ‘give back to the earth’ and green fingered experts will be on hand to teach people how to do just that and make use of compost at home. The roadshow is to call in at Burbage Common Open Day on Sunday, May 13 from 10am to 4pm.
Guy Jackson, chairman of the Leicestershire Waste Partnership, said that composting was the perfect way to recycle waste while making for great produce.
“Anyone who would like to find out a bit more about composting is welcome to come along to one of our roadshows. Composting is a great way to not only recycle your garden waste, but also ‘give back to the earth’ by feeding your plants and vegetables.”
